True to its commitment to mark the 75th year of diplomatic relations of France and the Philippines with yearlong activities, French Ambassador to the Philippines Michèle Boccoz, bared the various activities for the last quarter of 2022.
Speaking to THEPHILBIZNEWS, Ambassador Boccoz said, “We are really happy with all the activities we lined up, and I hope that the yearlong programs we prepared will further strengthen the Philippines and France relationship, perhaps, for another 75 years.”
“Our continuing relationship is not limited to these (cultural) activities. We value our friendship with the Philippines, and France will always lend a hand in many programs like education not just language but also people-to-people understanding, peace and security, investments, and as we go along, we will see more cooperation,” Boccoz said.
Interestingly, the Embassy of France made sure that the 75th anniversary celebration is not just seamless, but also meaningful to demonstrate the strong friendship between France and the Philippines.
For October, there are four major events including Marcel Proust-inspired art exhibit, “In Search of Lost Time” by Stéphane Heuet which opened last October 16. Followed by the 25th French Film Festival on October 21. Then the much awaited 75th France-Philippines Gala Night on October 22, wherein guests will have their outstanding gastronomical experience from 3-star Michelin Chef Alain Passard in collaboration with renowned Filipino Chefs Jessie Sincioco and Margarita Fores to create dishes that bring together the best of French and Filipino flavors.
There are many other events, to end the year with good tidings. In anticipation for Christmas season, French Christmas Market will be opened at the Ayala Triangle Gardens for Filipinos to experience the traditional French Christmas Market, and will culminate in mid January 2023, in time with the Sinulog Festival.
“We want this 75th Year celebration of our diplomatic relations to be memorable and meaningful. The collaboration between France and the Philippines, will certainly go a long way and hope that will continue even for the next 75 years more,” the lady envoy told to THEPHILBIZNEWS.
