The German premium and luxury car maker BMW enters the Philippine market with its luxury compact SUVs BMW X3 xDrive20d.
In the media advisory sent by SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, the BMW is now offering one of the best valued BMW Sport Activity Vehicles (SAVs) in the market and has a retail price of Php 3,790,000. The refreshed model features meaningful enhancements on its exterior design, drivetrain, infotainment, advanced driver assistance systems, and available equipment.
ON THE EXTERIOR.
The redesigned front end and revised rear section lend even clearer emphasis to the robust off-road look and sporty appearance of the third-generation BMW X3. Exterior updates for the new BMW X3 include a redesigned BMW kidney grille, headlights, front and rear bumpers, exhaust trim and rear lights.
The standard full LED headlights are around ten millimetres flatter than its previous iteration. The BMW kidney grille has been reworked to become larger than before, and it is now surrounded by a one-piece frame that includes a black sensor bar to provide visual separation.
Below the headlights, vertical air intakes arranged in a triangular design frame the new front bumper. The window frames and roof rails are finished in satin aluminum.
The rear section of the new BMW X3 features a black border for the redesigned full LED rear lights, creating a more precise appearance. The rear taillights now come in a three-dimensional modelled pincer claw contour with integrated horizontal turn signal bars in the center.
The emphasis on horizontal lines in the concave area at the lower end of the tailgate contributes to the cleaner appearance of the rear. The new flush-fitting free-form exhaust trim is now larger and sportier to convey more presence.
The BMW X3 xDrive20d Business is also equipped with 18-inch light alloy wheels in the V-spoke 618 design, accompanied by 225/60 R18 tyres.
MADE FOR BUSINESS AND PLEASURE.
The updated SAV welcomes passengers into a significantly revised ambiance. Available as standard are electrically powered front sports seats with pronounced side bolsters, providing assuring lateral support in dynamic driving situations. All seats are upholstered in high-quality Black Vernasca leather to offer a natural feel to the touch and a high-quality appearance while being easy to maintain.
The BMW X3 xDrive20d Business has a freestanding, central Control Display with a screen diagonal of 10.25-inches with touch function. Inputs into the infotainment system can also be done via the Touch Controller. Accompanying the Control Display is the BMW Live Cockpit Plus instrument with a 5.1-inch color display at the center.
Below the standard Control Display is the control panel for the standard 3-zone automatic air conditioning with integrated center vents. In addition to buttons and rocker switches for operating various automatic air conditioning functions, the control panel includes an LCD display as well as a button each for activating the hazard warning lights and for the driver assistance systems.
The new BMW X3 features an expanded the range of advanced driver assistance systems to enhance both comfort and safety. Standard systems include cruise control with braking function, and a tyre pressure monitoring sensor.
DIGITAL INTEGRATION.
BMW has always taken a leading role in integrating the vehicle with the customer’s digital ecosystem, and the new BMW X3 offers this in spades.
The BMW Live Cockpit Plus system is based on the intelligent networking and innovative digital services of BMW Operating System 7. Digital services include the BMW Intelligent Voice Control, Connected Music, and wireless smartphone integration with access to either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for a seamless and safe user experience.
The BMW Intelligent Voice Control is constantly being enhanced with additional capabilities, creating a more direct bond between driver and vehicle. The digital companion activated by voice control (e.g. “Hey BMW”) or at the touch of a button. Naturally spoken instructions can now be used to execute certain commands such as regulating the air conditioning, opening and closing the windows, or changing the driving experience switch modes, for instance. The system also recognises whether it is being addressed by the driver or the front passenger and reacts accordingly – for example by adjusting the air conditioning on one side only.

Its powertrain delivers a maximum 190 hp and 400 Nm of torque, enabling the SAV to accelerate from 0-100 kph in 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 213 kph.
