Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketers of the Caltex brand of fuels and lubricants, recently signed a contract with Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower) for the supply of diesel fuel to the latter’s nine power generation facilities throughout the nation. One of the country’s leading energy providers, AboitizPower is engaged in power distribution, generation, and retail electricity services with 3,962-megawatt total capacity.

The partnership, established as early as March this year, underlines the confidence that AboitizPower has in Chevron and its products to keep the company’s assets operating at optimum condition.

“With Chevron Philippines as our provider of quality fuel, we look forward to operational efficiency and worry-free operations so that we can keep supplying much needed power to keep the lights on in many Filipino households,” said Ronaldo S. Ramos, President & COO of AboitizPower Oil Business Unit.

For his part, Emmanuel Lopez, Senior Vice President of the AboitizPower Coal Business Unit said, “We trust their reliable service to support our operations as we continue to provide the country with reliable, sufficient, and cost-effective power supply.”

“We are also thankful to Chevron for supplying us with the diesel and gasoline requirements we needed to start-up the power plant of Therma Visayas, Inc. in Toledo, Cebu right after Typhoon Odette hit,” Lopez added. “It showed how dedicated and efficient they are in providing service, even during a disaster.”

Caltex-branded diesel fuel has been specially designed to comply with stringent Philippine emission regulations and other market requirements. They can also operate efficiently in both high and low-sulfur diesel fuel environments.

For its part, the management of CPI is only too happy to forge a partnership with companies that share the same vision.

“Our partnership with AboitizPower is truly remarkable,” said Billy Liu, country chairman CPI, “since we share the same advocacy of providing affordable, reliable, and safe energy. Our number one goal now is to keep AP’s equipment running and electricity flowing at their thermal plants so they can continue to provide for the energy needs of the nation.”

Chevron has continuously worked on improving people’s lives and enabling human progress. Part of this purpose entails forging strategic partnerships with companies that share the same purpose, such as AboitizPower, which also tirelessly strives to create and enhance value for its stakeholders.
