True to its commitment to advance Sustainable Development Goals and promote Nordic values in the way of doing business, the Nordic Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines is now accepting nominees for its 2022 Nordic Sustainability Awards Night.
With the goal of giving recognition to Nordic affiliated companies with great business success stories in 2021, the nominations are now open for businesses and organizations that have a Nordic affiliation through ownership, an ongoing partnership with a Nordic Company, or membership with NordCham Philippines.
The deadline for accepting nominations will be until 17 February 2022.​
Given to a company or organization that conducts business operations with the least negative impact possible on the environment, community, and society. The winning company or organization engages in environmentally-friendly pursuits at all aspects of the organization to guarantee that its processes, products, and production activities adequately address current environmental concerns while maintaining a profit.​​The activities should go beyond charity and philanthropy, focusing on how the nominee makes their profit, rather than on how they spend it.​ The nominee looks beyond their bottom line to also consider the social and environmental implications of their activities. ​​The activities implemented should be measurable and relevant to the core business of the nominee. ​​The Sustainability Business Partner of the Year Award is the Top Award of the year. The nominees are all entities with high focus and undeniable outcomes on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).​​It is not a must that all 17 goals are covered, and the winning nominee will receive the award based on the overall impact on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). ​​Note that the more SDGs engaged in, the higher probability of impact. ​​17 Sustainable Development Goals​
INNOVATION BUSINESS PARTNER OF THE YEAR​​​Given to a company or organization that embodies exceptional innovation in sustainability thereby diminishing the environmental impact of products, advancing resource efficiency, and use of other technologies and processes.​​The company has used new technology or existing technology in new ways or created a unique business model that leads to sustainable and innovative solutions addressing current challenges in the Philippines.​​The company is paving the way for future sustainable growth through environmentally conscious solutions with lasting impact in their local communities while meeting local and global issues.​​17 Sustainable Development Goals​​​​
GROWTH BUSINESS PARTNER OF THE YEAR​​​Given to a company or organization that has grown in the past years while adhering to sustainability goals as a guiding principle. ​
The largest percentage and absolute growth in the number of employees (FTE equivalent) in the Philippines during the most recently completed fiscal year (January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021)​​

OUTSTANDING EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR​ ​​Given to a company or organization, this is people-focused, demonstrates dedication to empowering individuals and enhancing their lives.​​The company invests in its people, recognizes good work, treats everyone fairly, gives a sense of satisfaction and security, and promotes work-life balance. ​​The company is also committed to gender equality, specifically women’s full and effective participation in the workplace. Incorporates equal opportunities and enables women to lead at all levels.​​​The company fosters a healthy work environment for all employees inside and outside of work. The company that helps achieve universal health coverage, including financial risk protection, access to quality essential healthcare services, and access to safe, efficient, quality, and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all. SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISE (SME) OF THE YEAR ​​​Given to a small and medium enterprise (SME) focused on growth and resilience while guided by sustainability principles. The company works with a sustainable business model, strong customer base, produces innovative products, shows the largest percentage and absolute growth in the number of employees (FTE equivalent) in the Philippines during the most recently completed fiscal year (January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021)​.​
The company also shows the largest percentage growth and absolute growth in revenue between the last two fiscal years (e.g. from 2020 to 2021)​​ and with maximum of 500 employees and an annual turnover of US$50M​

ELIGIBILITY AND GUIDELINES
Businesses and organizations may nominate themselves or be nominated by another party.​Nominated companies should have a Nordic affiliation through ownership, an ongoing partnership with a Nordic company​, or membership with NordCham Philippines. Nominees are asked to fill up the Nomination Form and may attach a presentation to support the form entries. Nominations are open until 17 February 2022.​An entry can be submitted in only one category.​Submissions become the property of NordCham Philippines. Submitted material may be used without limitations for the website, event marketing, social media, and podcasts.
NOMINATION
​The award nominations are open to companies with Nordic affiliations through ownership or an ongoing partnership with a Nordic company or membership with NordCham Philippines. The nomination is to be based on performance in 2021 only. Any person can nominate the company, however, it is usually a company representative, as the nomination form requires significant company information to be filled out accurately. Each category has different criteria.
PRELIMINARY SELECTION​
Nomination forms are reviewed by the awards secretariat. All qualified submissions will be notified and prepared for the next phase of the evaluation process. Entries that do not meet the base criteria will be advised accordingly.​ The awards secretariat may schedule a Zoom or telephone interview with all qualified shortlisted candidates to gain first-hand information and a Q&A opportunity with nominees if deemed necessary. ​
JUDGING CONSENSUS​
A comprehensive report containing the inputs gained from the submitted documents will be presented to the panel of judges for final selection. The awards are given at the sole discretion of the panel of judges.​
WINNERS CONFIRMATION​
The outcome of the judging consensus is private and confidential, and results are notified to the respective nominees via phone call and email. The secretariat will prepare all winners with the necessary arrangements in attending the Awards Night. The official winners’ list is only disclosed on the day of the official awards ceremony.​
