PUEBLO DE ORO Development Corporation (PDO), the property development arm of the ICCP Group, is constructing commercial centers in its residential communities to further improve residents’ access to their day-to-day needs.

“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, people are looking for more accessible retail centers that are less dense, with open air design rather than big box malls with high population,” said PDO President and COO Prim Nolido.

Nolido bared that they have started construction of commercial strips within their projects in Cebu and Cagayan de Oro. They are also planning similar retail centers in their developments in Pampanga and Batangas.

Last month, PDO broke ground for Pueblo de Oro Townsquare, a three-level commercial strip located at Sitio Judas Belt, Babag II, Lapu-Lapu City. It is located within the Pueblo de Oro Cebu Communities, which houses the La Aldea Del Mar and Park Place residential subdivisions.

Pueblo de Oro Townsquare will have six retail units – with sizes ranging from 13.78 to 51.70 square meters – and one anchor store with a size of 214.61 square meters. The group is targeting a convenience store or pharmacy as their major tenant with the other units to be leased to smaller retailers such as bakeries, meatshops, water stations and other stores that cater to the needs of the community. Construction cost is estimated at P32 million.

A second 3-floor commercial building is being planned for 2023. It will have 15 retail units, with total leasable area of over 500 square meters.

In September, PDO held the groundbreaking rites for The Hub at Bamboo Lane, its commercial center in Cagayan de Oro. The Hub is strategically located at the junction of San Agustin Avenue and PN Roa Sr. Avenue, within the valley portion of the Pueblo de Oro Township.

The three-story commercial building will have an anchor grocery tenant on the ground floor with al fresco dining, and 22 commercial and office spaces ranging from 21 to 57 square meters on the second and third floors. Features include restrooms on every floor, and ample car and motorcycle parking slots. Construction cost is estimated at P80 million.

The HUB at Bamboo Lane

The Hub gives residents in villages such as Bamboo Lane, Familia Apartments, Forest View Homes, San Agustin Valley Homes, Westwoods, and other nearby communities the convenience of having everything they need only a short distance away from their homes.

Pueblo de Oro Townsquare (Building A) and The Hub in Bamboo Lane are both scheduled for completion in 2022.
