Globe further widens its global 5G roaming footprint as it makes the service available in Australia via Vodafone beginning September 15. This comes after Globe also launched with partner Telkomsel in Indonesia, and Starhub in Singapore, earlier this month.  It is also set to enter into a similar arrangement with Cosmote for Greece, as Globe eyes to launch its 5G services there in October.

“While we ramp up the rollout of the Globe 5G network in the country, we also continuously enter into partnerships with telcos worldwide to give our customers the best mobile experience when they travel,” said Coco Domingo, Globe Vice President for Postpaid and International.

Globe is committed to bringing more bandwidth capacity to Filipinos by tapping various forms of technologies like 5G.

The planned introduction in Australia and the recently launched service in Indonesia further widened Globe’s Asia-Pacific 5G coverage that currently includes Singapore (Singtel and Starhub), Thailand (AIS Thailand), Vietnam (Viettel), China (China Mobile and China Unicom), Hong Kong (CSL), South Korea (KT Corp and SK Telecom), Taiwan (Taiwan Mobile), and Japan (Softbank).

On the other hand, the expected partnership with Cosmote will soon add Greece to European countries where Globe 5G roaming is already available. This includes Bulgaria (Vivacom), Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Norway, and Sweden (Telia Company), Italy (Telecom Italia), Switzerland (Swisscom), Czech Republic (O2), and Turkey (Turk Telecom).

Globe is also present in North America and the Middle East, where there are many Filipino migrants and overseas workers.

Globe Postpaid and Prepaid customers could enjoy a more stable internet with hardly any delay when they connect to the 5G network of Globe’s partner telcos.

5G can be experienced through affordable Globe roaming promos such as Roam Surf 399 for Postpaid and Prepaid subscribers and its new call and text add-on Roam Surf Plus. Roamers only need to ensure that they are within Globe’s 5G partner locations and are using 5G-enabled mobile devices or handsets.

Likewise, subscribers of Globe’s roaming partners will have access to Globe’s 5G network when they visit the Philippines as long as they are using 5G-enabled phones in over 1,800 5G locations. To know more about our 5G-ready telco partners, visit glbe.co/5GRoaming.
