Around 100,000 COVID-19 vaccines have been distributed since May 2021 at vaccination facilities in Araneta City, the Araneta Group announced.

The vaccination at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and New Frontier Theater took place on various dates and is made possible by the Araneta Group, through the arrangements of the J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF) with the Quezon City government.

This number will continue to grow in the coming days as the Big Dome mega vaccination site will hold another round of vaccination from August 7 to15.

“We are more than proud to partner with the local government of Quezon City on this worthy endeavor. We look forward to continuing serving our people so that we can all do our part to achieve recovery,” Diane Romero, Executive Director of JAAF said.

Meanwhile, the Araneta Group reached an important milestone in its drive to vaccinate its employees and protect them from COVID-19, as it has provided 100 percent of all its eligible employees with at least one dose of the vaccine. The company’s vaccination drive was able to reach all of its 3,000 office-based employees and frontline personnel.

“The vaccination program is part of Araneta Group’s goal of providing a safe and healthy live, work, dine, shop, and play environment at the City of Firsts. We are not just guaranteeing the safety of our own people, but we are also assuring the public that they can visit any Araneta City property safely and with ease,” Romero said.

Some employees of the Araneta Group were inoculated courtesy of healthcare provider Reliance United at the Ali Mall Cinema lobby starting July. Aside from employees of the Araneta Group, this facility also vaccinated employees of various business process outsourcing (BPO) companies.

“This is a huge achievement for all of us,” Romero added. “This success is all thanks to our employees who responded to the call to get vaccinated. They set an outstanding example for all of us. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our partners, especially those in the government, for their commitment to boost this effort to protect our employees.”

Get vaccinated, Bb. Pilipinas Queens urge

In a virtual presentation that took place days after the Binibining Pilipinas 2021 Grand Coronation Night last July 11, the newly crowned winners encouraged the public to get vaccinated amid the threat of another surge because of the Delta variant.

“We are trying to reach herd immunity as a nation, as a population. The only way to do that is to have the initiative to get vaccinated. You should know that when you get yourself protected, you protect other people around you,” Bb. Pilipinas Grand International Samantha Panlilio said.

This sentiment was seconded by Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Cinderella Faye Obeñita. “I think it’s very important to get vaccinated and be part of the process. This is something we can do for the community and I think that the only way we can get out of this pandemic is through community care.”

Bb. Pilipinas Globe Maureen Montagne also underscored the value of the vaccine in our path towards recovery. She said that she is aware of the longing of the public to get back to a sense of normalcy after the disruption to lives and businesses caused by the pandemic. Maureen said that the only way to do it is through getting the jab.

“I encourage everyone to get vaccinated, it’s the next key step in healing from the pandemic,” she urged.

Bb. Pilipinas International Hannah Arnold cited her scientific background in convincing Filipinos to get inoculated. She said that she recognizes the fact that a lot of people have worries or doubts about the vaccine and its efficacy, but she said that she is always ready and willing to help and explain the technology behind the vaccines. In fact, she’s even willing to hold the hands of anyone getting jitters because of the vaccine.

And to anyone who is still scared about getting jabbed, Arnold has a simple message, “I hope they do their research and believe in the science.”
