British Chamber Executive Director and Trustee Chris Nelson was a presenter and among the panelists of the recent digital event entitled “UK-Philippines: Opportunities for Business Growth Collaboration.
Organized by the Institute of Directors London region in partnership with the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines, the webinar looks at the Philippine economy and its market potential to attract British companies.
Joining Nelson as panelists are GSK Philippines’ President and General Manager Zainab Sadat, Michelle Sanchez of Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) London and Christos Papalexis of Global Process Manager.
During the interview, the UK’s ambitious plan to boost FINTECH and financial services was discussed. Nelson briefly mentioned that the Chamber received an inquiry from a UK company about the country’s FinTech sector in terms of viability, usage and other aspects that an investor would take into consideration.
For its part, the British Chamber supports the governments’ efforts that will direct and support the economy in digital transformation. BCCP will also hold a digital event next month looking at the country’s E-commerce and Retail sector with one of the country’s e-commerce giants Lazada Philippines and confirmed its participation.
