Following in the footsteps and the ambition of the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Mr. Péter Szijjártó in October 2020 and the successful 2nd Session of the Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation in December last year, the Embassy of Hungary with its Hungarian and local partners is organizing the 1st Hungary-Philippines Online Business Forum and Matchmaking event.
Aptly named “LINK”, the event aims to be the gateway for business opportunities between Hungary and the Philippines. Organized online between 18-20 May 2021, the LINK will feature a business forum with high-level panelists and many well curated business-to-business meeting opportunities.
According to the Ambassador of Hungary, Dr. Titanilla Tóth “LINK follows the ambition set by the visit of Minister Szijjártó and the two successful Joint Committee meetings, which have identified and set the focal areas of our cooperation. We are now turning words into action, finding and pairing the partners who will make these connections bear fruit.” The Embassy of Hungary aims to be the one-stop shop for Hungarian and Philippines businesses looking for trade and investment opportunities.
The business forum will feature senior official speakers from the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA), the Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) and of course the Co-chairs of the Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation. Several companies will share their firsthand experiences in the Philippine and Hungarian markets to help the soft landing of the newcomers.
The forum will be followed by an online matchmaking event organized jointly with the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Philippines Board of Investments, the Philippine International Trading Corporation and the Embassy of Hungary will bring together companies from both the Philippines and Hungary for direct discussion in their respective fields of interest.
According to Ambassador Tóth, the Embassy “is confident that the interest already demonstrated by the Philippine and Hungarian companies will translate into a vibrant and successful event that will create a tradition for the years to come”.
The attendance at the event is free of charge, but prior registration is required.
