Globe is providing connectivity and communication tools, online teacher training, learning platforms, and affordable products and services to help teachers and students in public schools, access and navigate the digital learning space. These are all in support of the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP), Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE), and Brigada Eskwela (BE) programs.
“We always seek innovative ways to provide holistic intervention that could bridge the gaps and tackle challenges faced by our public school teachers and students, to enable the delivery of quality education despite uncertain times,” said Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability Officer and Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications of Globe.
Globe has equipped over 67,000 public school teachers and students nationwide since the onset of the pandemic with P34 million worth of load and sim cards and over 13,000 units of Home Prepaid WiFis and pocket WiFis. Likewise, Globe’s loyal subscribers contributed Php 700,000 through GCash and Globe Rewards points. The amount was donated to Ayala Foundation for the provision of connectivity to teachers and students from partner schools nationwide. This year, Globe At Home’s WiFi2Teach program and Ayala Foundation distributed 2,000 Home Prepaid WiFi kits to different partner schools to help teachers deliver online learning modules.
Aside from connectivity tools, Globe allows all teachers and students to access, download, and consume hundreds of ebooks and e-learner videos through Globe eLibrary (https://globeelibrary.ph/) and DepEd Commons (https://commons.deped.gov.ph/), a website which contains online review materials and Open Educational Resources authored by public school teachers who are subject matter experts, for free using their Globe or TM mobile accounts.
The company, through its Global Filipino Teachers (GFT) program, also partnered with DepEd, National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP), Habi Education Lab, and Teach for the Philippines (TFP) to provide training to public school teachers on digital literacy, early language literacy, parental engagement, responsible online behavior, psychological first aid, among others.

This year, due to the shift in needs of the public education sector, the Ayala Group opted for connectivity support, teacher training, handwashing facilities, and distribution of EduCare kits containing washable face masks, a face shield, alcohol, hand soap, notebooks and writing implements.
