Forty-eight illegal liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanks were seized in separate bust operations held in Libon and Polangui Albay last month. The confiscated cylinders and other items amounted to Php 113,480.

Last February 5, 44 illegally refilled 11-kg Solane LPGs with an estimated worth of Php 110,000 were busted from suspect Henry Bien y Vasquez in Gov Seya Street, Zone 2, Libon Albay. Along with the tanks, authorities captured a marked 1,000-peso bill and a transaction receipt issued at a selling price of Php 860.

On the same day in Barangay Magurang, Polagui Albay, four more illegally refilled Solane cylinders, a marked bill worth Php 1,000, and a transaction receipt at a selling price of Php 870 were confiscated from suspect Resontoc Romy y Buenaflor. Pieces of evidence seized were additionally worth Php 3,480.00.

Local LPG companies, together with the government, are doubling their efforts to cut the demand and supply of substandard LPGs through small- and large-scale bust operations. However, data from the Department of Energy (DOE) showed that there are still six million dilapidated cylinders that must be removed from the market.

Trusted LPG brand Solane encourages consumers to actively be involved in wiping out counterfeit LPGs in the market to protect their lives and homes, and ultimately, others’ as well. Illegally sourced tanks could be defective and host the threat of gas leaks that may lead to massive fires and explosions. In the observance of the Fire Prevention campaign this month, Solane strengthens its call for consumers to be vigilant against fraudulent LPGs to avoid fires in different localities.

Solane emphasizes to only buy from authorized dealers that sell and distribute legitimate LPGs like Verified Solane. Each Verified Solane product is guaranteed safe and of high quality, passing the standards set by the Philippine National Standards (PNS) for LPGs. With Verified Solane, consumers are assured that every cylinder is free of leakage and is thoroughly inspected from production to distribution. Verified Solane tanks also contain the exact amount of pure LPG – around 13 to 15 kgs for AS or de salpak and 11.5-14kgs for POL or de roskas. That should be enough for more than 30 days, with numerous uses in the kitchen.

While exercising extra precaution against fire this month and beyond, make sure that only Verified Solane products will reach your home. Locate authorized Solane stores or order Verified Solane by sending a text to 0918-887-5555 or to the Solane Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/solane.ph).
