Philippines preps up for CIFTIS 2020

The Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB), in partnership with Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Beijing (PTIC-Beijing), will showcase Philippine service exporters in the country’s online participation in the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2020 on 3-7 September 2020.

The first and the largest comprehensive exhibition in the service trade field both in China and globally, CIFTIS 2020 is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Beijing Municipal Government.

The online Philippine Pavilion will feature the country’s competitive advantages and offerings in the services industry through exhibiting photos and videos from the following industries – Information Technology-Business Process Management (IT-BPM), Software Development, Animation, Game Development, Film, Digital Creative Original Intellectual Property (IP), Construction and Engineering.

Philippine exhibitors include 18 companies, 5 private sector associations, and 3 government agencies from the following sectors: construction and engineering outsourcing; IT-enabled services such as software development, digital marketing, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), animation, and game development; e-learning and training; film production and visual effects; and higher education services.

“The objectives of Philippine participation are to promote Philippine IT-enabled services including construction and engineering, creatives, and education as part of market diversification and explore potential business cooperation/partnership with Chinese enterprises and position the Philippines as an ideal outsourcing destination,” said DTI-EMB Director Senen Perlada.

“The Philippines has an excellent track record in supporting global operations of companies from all over the world. The strong customer service orientation of its workforce also makes the Philippines an ideal location for services for customers globally,” he added. 

The delegation will participate in online business matching meetings and conferences organized by partner organizations like China ASEAN Business Council (CABC), China Association for Trade in Services (CATIS), and Beijing Association of Services Sourcing (BASS)

The government participants are composed of the PTIC-Beijing, DTI-EMB, Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines – Philippine Overseas Construction Board (CIAP-POCB), Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Partner associations include the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA), Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI), Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP), and Cybercraft Philippine Association.  

The first online CIFTIS participation will also be joined by private companies: Morph Animation Inc.; GameOps, Inc.; Definite Studios Pte. Ltd.;  Ranida Games; Blissful Fun Animation Inc.; Kino Arts; Thames International; Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU)-Cavite Campus; LPU-Batangas Campus; Norman Goss Training Services; ESCA Incorporated; Multi-Disciplinary Institute of Technology Inc. (ESCA Knowledge Academy); Pistacia, Inc.; Avanza, Inc.; Jobs eSolutions Inc.; Ingenuity Global Consulting, Inc.; CAI-STA; and Segworks Technologies Corporation.
