Toyota Hiace remains the country’s number one utility van that has been useful to transport commuters in many parts of the country.

But given the changing needs of the people, Toyota introduces its new entrepreneurs’ companion, the Hiace Cargo, which ready to transport goods instead of passengers.

With its seat-less option, the Hiace further expands its service to more industries including the enterprising Filipino.

Back in 2019, Toyota Motor Philippines introduced the Full Model Change Hiace with the addition of Super Grandia Elite, and GL Tourer variants to cater to a more luxurious market.

Meanwhile, the Commuter variant continues to be the staple people-mover used as company shuttles for private use, and UV express to serve the public. Overall, the variant line-up expansion, backed by the Toyota standard of quality, durability, and reliability, plus a host of new comfort, convenience and safety functionalities made it the preferred choice in the utility van segment.  As of May 2020, the Hiace holds a 66% market share.

This is a commitment of Toyota to address the ever-changing need of the market. It recognizes the need to transport cargo as well as people.

Mr. Sherwin Chualim, Toyota Motor Philippines First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations explained, “TMP in pursuit of providing for the needs of the market, it has introduced the Hiace Cargo to cater to customers who have requirements to transport load in a safe and secure way.  It is also timely as we are also able to cater to the needs of the market for goods transfer during this pandemic situation.”

Interestingly, Mr. Chualim noted that outside Japan market, the Philippines is the largest market for Hiace.

“We want to continue expanding our Hiace line-up for more versatile use,” he concluded.

Just for this month of July, the Hiace Cargo is retailed at PHP 1,101,000.00.
