With many MSMEs affected by the enhanced community quarantine that prompted to stop the operations of some business, the DTI once again brings back the Bagsakan Sale.
This time, various rice varieties from Bulacan as well as seafood, agricultural products and traditional delicacies from Bataan will be the featured products at the DTI Bagsakan Sale, with confirmed orders to be picked up on Friday, June 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the DTI Head Office in Makati City.
In keeping with its mandate to expand the market presence of Filipino MSMEs, the Department of Trade and Industry – Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (DTI-BDTP) organized the Bagsakan Project to help MSMEs promote their products and to generate revenues that will help sustain their operations through the COVID-19 crisis.
For the upcoming 10th Bagsakan, the rice growers in Bulacan will be offering white rice, brown rice, red rice, black rice, blended rice, and more.
Meanwhile, from Bataan will come fresh fruits like avocado and mangoes; seafood like shrimp, crabs, bangus, crab paste, nilasing na hipon, fried dilis, fried squid, and other fish products; plus favorite Filipino delicacies like choco moron, brazo de mercedes, araro cookies, polvoron in various flavors, coco jam, cookies, and more. There will also be healthy honey, cashew nuts, peanuts, and chips from sweet potato, mussel, taro, and banana.

The upcoming 10th Bagsakan is being organized by the DTI-BDTP in coordination with the DTI Central Luzon regional office, particularly the DTI-Bulacan and DTI-Bataan provincial offices.
Since the 1st Bagsakan Sale last March, the DTI-BDTP has helped generate over PHP 2-million in cumulative sales for farmers, fruit growers, and other MSMEs by promoting their products on social media to reach consumers and buyers. At the same time, the Bagsakan Project helped ensure the availability of food supplies for the public even during the enhanced community quarantine, in adherence to the “Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.” The project has helped MSMEs and farmers from the provinces of Pangasinan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Bataan, Zambales, Laguna, Camarines Sur, and Guimaras.
