The Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau, in collaboration with Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC)-Seoul and ASEAN Korea Centre (AKC), has sent a second Business Mission to Korea for the Philippine Furniture Industry.
With the success of the 2018 Philippine participation, AKC invited anew 10 Philippine Furniture companies to exhibit in the ASEAN Pavilion with the theme: “ASEAN Trade Fair 2019: Experience ASEAN Lifestyle” during the Korea International Furniture and Interior Fair (KOFURN) 2019 which opened last Wednesday, August 28, and runs through Sunday, Sept. 1, at Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX).
KOFURN is one of the longest furniture fairs in South Korea since its establishment in 1981. The show is organized by the Korea Federation of Furniture Industry Cooperative (KFFIC), a non-profit organization under Korea’s Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and endorsed by various government organizations and institutions.
The invited companies include Acento Colleccion, Azcor Lighting Systems, Inc., Contemporaneo Design Enterprise, Designs Ligna Philippines, Diretso Philippines, Furniture Doctor, Markline Home Furnitures, Natures Legacy Eximport Inc., Weavemanila, and VGC Wooden Articles.
The Philippines features multi-functional and customizable office and home furniture, lamps and lighting, carpets, and wall decors made from environmentally-sustainable and sturdy materials to accommodate the needs of the Korean Furniture Market.
The Philippines is one of the nine ASEAN Member States (AMS) featured in the ASEAN Pavilion. The other AMS include Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Brunei, Laos, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
EMB and PTIC-Seoul, in cooperation with the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines (CFIP), will conduct a Market Sensing Activity in conjunction with the KOFURN 2019 trade show to gain more knowledge of the Korean Furniture Market, and to establish new business leads.
