For coffee lovers, nothing beats the experience of having your fresh brew in your hand instantly.
For the first time in the Philippine market, Bo’s Coffee founded by its CEO Steve Benitez addressed this need via Bo’s Coffee Advance Ordering BOTTY.
Speaking to the media last July 23 at Bo’s Coffee in Glorietta 5 in Makati City, Benitez said that coffee lovers, himself included, have always wanted to get their orders right away – more conveniently, if possible, even before they arrive at his coffee shop.
Speaking to THEPHILBIZNEWS, the Bo’s Coffee CEO said he has this demand figured out. “There was a time when I wanted to drink a coffee, (and) I said to myself, ‘I can do this by texting or calling our store that I want to visit and that solves my problem.’ However, I realized that if I have that desire, it is likely that I am not alone. So, I have been thinking, ‘what if Bo’s Coffee can start something that would make our customers happy?’ That is, skipping the line and have their coffee before they arrive in our store.”
Eyes glowing, Benitez narrated how he broached the idea to Cary Gee, a businessman engaged in F&B. “He’s been helping hospitality businesses in building a customer engagement to drive transactions and retention for merchants. And having vast experience in managing software teams and business operating system (BOS) for his restaurant chains , this prompted him to the create the BOTTY, a chatbot that allows users to order meals through messaging platforms such as Facebook Messenger,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rachel Fallarme, COO of Bo’s Coffee, explained to THEPHILBIZNEWS another reason why Bo’s Coffee advance order BOTTY came into being.
“Most of the coffee drinkers have a different lifestyle. Hence, we are addressing their lifestyle need, for being always on the go. With BOTTY, they can skip the long queues, place their order ahead of time and the coffee is ready for pick up ready to the chosen Bo’s Coffee branch,” Bo’s Coffee COO explained.
Furthermore, Benitez said he really wants to give Bo’s Coffee customers the best of both worlds. “If they want to unwind and relax, they can come to our stores and enjoy the ambiance. And if they want to save time and don’t have time to line up, we also have the platform for that and that’s BOTTY,” he said.
While Bo’s Coffee BOTTY held its media launch, the system was already being used as early as March of this year in five stores. By June 2019, it was rolled out in 47 stores.
“For now, it is just for select stores but there are plans to expand it to all stores so that all our customers in the Philippines can have this experience,” added Benitez.
With the BOTTY being available now at selected Bo’s Coffee stores in Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Palawan, Davao and Cagayan de Oro, Bo’s Coffee executives disclosed that their customers can expect more convenient ways to order through other digital initiatives which will be launched soon and that includes online payment with the use Visa or MasterCard credit/debit cards, Paymaya Card and Cash.
BOTTY is user friendly. By simply opening the Facebook Messenger app and search for Bo’s Coffee Advance Ordering BOTTY, customers can send their location or choose the store to place their order, choose their drink size, perks, and quantity. And in 15 minutes, skip the queue and present your collection number.
