With the grand homecoming of Miss Universe 2019 Catriona Gray sets on February 21 and 22, and to be celebrated with two victory parades, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat revealed that the Department of Tourism would be meeting with Catriona for a possible collaboration to promote Philippine tourist destinations.
The Tourism Chief said that in their scheduled meeting next week, they will be discussing how DOT and the Miss Universe can collaborate with each other.
Puyat intimated that she had previously worked with the Filipina-Australia beauty queen who hails from Albay when she was still competing for Miss Universe.
Gray came up with three tourism videos featuring the uniqueness of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao culture and heritage as well as the promotions of Intramuros, Yolanda-hit areas in Eastern Visayas and South Cotabato.
According to Romulo-Puyat, “She’s really been promoting our country.”
Last December, the Tourism Secretary met with Gray after she won at the Miss Universe pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand. With her scheduled return to the country and grand homecoming events the Department of Tourism wants to capitalize on this since the Miss Universe has been very effective in promoting the Philippine tourism before.
With her grand homecoming, it is timely and apt to let someone like her to be the best person to promote the country and Philippines’ wonderful tourist destinations.
