The Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) is further strengthening its assistance to investors in the hotel and housing sectors as the agency conducted an Investor Awareness Seminar at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ortigas Center, Pasig City recently (May 29, 2018). The seminar aims to enhance the awareness of potential investors on the requirements, rules and regulations, and policies and procedures, and processes in doing business in the Philippine hotel and housing sectors. Resource speakers from the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB), Department of Tourism (DOT), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) also discussed their respective areas of bconcern related to doing business in the Philippine hotel and housing sectors. The seminar likewise aims to familiarize BOI-registered enterprises (RBEs) with the value chain of services that the agency readily provides including pre and post investment assistance, registration of investment projects, and availment of incentives. “We are very much enthusiastic in providing assistance to these industries especially that we wanted more investors in the housing industry to come in and help address the current housing backlog. In the same manner, we also want to encourage more hotel investors in the country and address the need for 120,000 additional hotel rooms to boost local tourism,” said BOI Executive Director Raul Angeles.
