His Excellency the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Shri Narendra Modi expressed his deepest sympathy to the Philippines through His Excellency the President of the Republic of Philippines, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, on the recent terrorist incident in Jolo.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed his condolences message through a letter sent to Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Jaideep Mazumdar, and strongly condemned the said violence and terroristic act and offered help to the Philippines in whatever capacity it can to counter the global menace.

The diplomatic relationship between Philippines and Indian goes back as early as November 1949 and this year is the 70th year of the strong friendship between two allies.
