AI and ML can enable real-time monitoring, risk scoring, pattern detection, and predictive analytics, automating investigations and streamlining evidence gathering. These tools also strengthen institutional capacity by providing adaptive training for government officials to better identify and prevent corrupt practices.

Meanwhile, blockchain technology offers secure, transparent, and tamper-proof ledgers for government transactions, supply chains, and identity management, making it harder for corrupt activities to go unnoticed. Other tools, including remote sensing and facial recognition, could further enhance compliance monitoring and anomaly detection.

However, the experts cautioned that successful adoption of these technologies depends on data integrity, robust legal frameworks, privacy safeguards, and strong collaboration between governments, the private sector, and civil society. Training and capacity-building, they added, will be essential to ensure that technology complements—not replaces—human oversight.

“These innovations are not a silver bullet,” San Andres and Vasquez stressed. “But if effectively integrated into governance, they can transform the fight against corruption and position APEC economies as global leaders in transparency and accountability.”

The programs will cover a broad range of topics. They will be tailored to cater to both individuals looking to gain a foundational understanding of blockchain, web3 and crypto technologies for those who wish to build the right skills to pursue a career in the blockchain industry. The programs will be developed by Binance Academy experts. Each learning program will consist of several courses and include video lectures, readings, practice assessments or projects and graded assessments.

Binance has announced the launch of its inaugural summer internship program aimed at fostering talent development and driving innovation in the Web3 industry. The highly immersive program will provide young talents with practical knowledge and skills by working alongside the brightest minds of the world’s largest crypto organization. 

The 10-week summer internship program offers cross-functional learning opportunities for interns to rotate across different teams, including Marketing, Customer Service, and Binance Academy. Interns will have access to mentorship by experienced project leads who will provide guidance and support throughout the program. AMP also includes training and development elements such as Communications with Impact, Culture Intelligence, and Effective Feedback to enhance their personal and professional skills. At the end of the program, the participants will deliver a final project to top executives which will maximize their learning and growth throughout the experience.

Following a comprehensive selection process that entailed interviews, tests, and group case study assessments, 23 candidates have been handpicked to participate in the program. The intersection of AI and crypto has the potential to unlock a whole new world of possibilities and has presented a range of exciting use cases. By examining the use of AI in various sectors, such as DeFi, NFTs, and DAOs, more insights can be gained into the potential future applications of this transformative technology.

AI in DeFi:

Decentralized Finance (DeFi) has experienced remarkable growth across the years, and AI is playing a pivotal role in further enhancing its capabilities. One significant area where AI is making an impact is in the smart contract audit process. Smart contract audits involve a comprehensive inspection and analysis of smart contract codes to identify security or technical issues that may result in potential vulnerabilities in the system. She revealed how shaping careers without gender preconceptions has succeeded for Binance, “A lot of people that I work with started out as interns and are now leading global teams. An advantage of working in the Web 3 sector is that there is lower bureaucracy, which allows people, regardless of their gender, to be able to progress in their career.”

Creating their own place in the Web3 industry

Other female speakers at the “Women in Blockchain” event also shared their experience working in Web3 and how they have been building their career in this male-dominated space. Mary Rose E. Magsaysay, Assistant Secretary of the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), highlighted the effectiveness of women in leadership roles: “When we talk about the government, some of the best managers are women since about 70 percent of managerial jobs are handled by women.” 

Myrtle Anne Ramos, serial entrepreneur and angel investor, encouraged women to find other women in the tech space and collaborate with them to make a difference. She shared that people should “create the world that you want to see. What we need to do is build that inclusive world that we’re creating for. Make a safe space for everyone and look for mentors.”

Kimberly Rocha-Delgado, Director of Galeria Paloma, advised women to seek out companies that value their strengths and make them allies in making space for other people to shine. “By raising awareness about these issues, we can work towards greater representation and equality,” she said. 

Een Mercado, gaming content creator and Yield Guild Games (YGG) Ambassador, advised women to carve out their own space and pursue their own paths in the highly competitive gaming industry. “While it may be difficult to create content that hasn’t been done before, it’s important to keep trying and find a unique way to stand out. Ultimately, success in the gaming world comes from having fun and enjoying the competition, while also being persistent in pursuing one’s own goals,” Mercado said.

As part of Binance’s commitment to increasing female representation in Web3 and reducing the gender gap, the exchange has created its first formal internship and graduate programs, which offer more access to careers in crypto for diverse talent, including women. Binance also offers guidance and career advice to women through Binance Academy’s educational courses, female mentorship programs and talent workshops to teach more women on how to break into a career in Web3.

The opening of the new National Cybercrime Hub will be an expansion of the ongoing collaboration between Binance and CICC, where the center will leverage on Binance’s expertise in blockchain forensics and cybercrime prosecution to detect and reduce the cybercrime rate in the Philippines. This collaboration is part of a larger cybersecurity and law enforcement effort spearheaded in the Asia Pacific region by Jarek Jakubcek, Binance’s Head of Intelligence and Investigations for APAC, which sees different sectors and law enforcement agencies partnering with the exchange in the global fight against cybercrimes.

Jarek Jakubcek, Head of Intelligence and Investigations APAC, said: “Ensuring the secure and sustainable growth of the global crypto ecosystem involves doing our part to bolster international cybersecurity. Binance proactively collaborates with both private and public entities to detect bad actors and plays a significant role in helping global law enforcement deal with cyber and financial crime. Gleb Kostarev, Regional Head of Asia, who graced the event for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, said: “Protecting users remains as our top priority in Binance and we continue to be fully committed to our efforts in fighting cybercrime and promoting blockchain user protection. With the new National Cybercrime Hub, we aim to make it the one-stop platform for cybercrime management in the Philippines.”

Binance is in close coordination with other law enforcement agencies and other relevant partners to offer training, seminars and operational cooperation in taking down cybercrime groups. This is on top of Binance’s existing standards native to the exchange such as their Know-Your-Customer (KYC) process which is compliant with global Anti Money Laundering laws in over 200 jurisdictions, and their Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) insurance program to protect user assets. 

During the three-day event aimed at discussing the key reforms needed and the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to modernize Philippines’ electoral processes, Kenneth Stern, General Manager of Binance in the Philippines, participated in a panel titled “Use of Blockchain Technology in the Automated Election System”. He delved into blockchain technology and its use cases, including how it could potentially improve the transparency, security, and trust in the country’s electoral process.

This visit to the National Election Summit reiterates Binance’s ongoing efforts towards collaborating with regulators to build a stable regulatory environment that provides greater protections for everyday users while fostering innovation and progress. There is no denying that the blockchain technology has many benefits for the business. From efficiency, cybersecurity, data storage, among others, it has become a must have for many enterprises. Hence, the growing adaption becomes a necessity, rather than a luxury.

Cognizant of its many benefits especially to lure more foreign investors who want transparency, efficiency an secured system, CEZA takes pride of embracing the blockchain technology. But more than just an adaption, it goes beyond this as it shares the vision for the utilization of the technology.

A DAO is an autonomous and transparent community-led entity with no central authority that operates businesses or initiatives through a blockchain, digital asset, or the web3 industry.

Prior to the advent of DAO registries in other parts of the world, DAOs existed in a legal gray area. By joining a DAO registry, these organizations become formally incorporated, gaining legal protection, operational benefits, and other advantages through doing so. 
In launching a DAO registry, CEZA wants to become the best place in the world for this business activity, besting all the cities and countries in the space. Other DAO registries include Malta, Switzerland, Estonia, Gibraltar, and Wyoming, United States, which is currently the number one destination for DAOs seeking registration.

In aiming to become the world’s number one DAO registry, CEZA is not only after an influx of DAO registrations. What ultimately matters is that these DAO registrations become an entry point into building a full-fledged blockchain ecosystem. 

This process can occur organically – organizations, after all, will want to do business in the locality that their DAO is registered in. “While a DAO registry is an achievement on its own, having and maintaining one is also strategically important. Persuading any enterprise to do business in your jurisdiction is difficult. Achieving this goal hinges on CEZA being a more attractive destination for registration than other markets with DAO registries. This challenge is easier said than done. As pioneers in blockchain legislation, these markets did their best to enact progressive policies and frameworks that can potentially stand the test of time.

But there are still severe gaps in these frameworks, all of which CEZA aims to address. For example, in some jurisdictions the fees associated with filing a DAO are cost-prohibitive. In other cases, the time horizon of obtaining a DAO registration is excessive and possibly detrimental to a business in an industry where speed is important.

In other markets, the issue is neither cost, nor speed. Some jurisdictions still hold too much liability on the senior officers of a DAO, or are bestowed with extraordinary ability that make businesses uncomfortable, such as the ability to completely dissolve a DAO in the event of perceived wrongdoing.

From this perspective, CEZA actually benefits from being a relatively late entrant into the DAO registry space: The zone can address all of the issues that have made businesses reluctant to register or operate there. It would not make sense to fix these issues using any technology other than blockchain.

To this end, all registrations of DAOs will be done on a public ledger powered by a blockchain,which will enable enterprises to track and monitor the status of any application, fund any application or renewal entirely through the DAO registry system, and get their needed documents in a timely manner, since thousands of miners help validate transactions.
